Summary
On August 03, 2012, a Airbus A319 (EI-IMS) was involved in an incident near Rome, IT. All 100 people aboard were uninjured. The aircraft sustained minor damage.

During a left turn for the stand at taxi in, the flight crew experienced abnormal skidding from the nose landing gear. Initial inspection found the left nose wheel assembly was completely missing with damage to nose landing gear axle area. The nose wheel assembly and debris was found on runway 16R (landing runway).
At the time of the incident the airplane was carrying 95 passengers and 5 crew members. There were no reported injuries from this incident.

As the state of manufacturer of some of the airplanes components, the NTSB has designated a US Accredited Representative under the provisions of Annex 13 to the Convention on Civil Aviation to assist the ANSV in their invesitigation.
