On May 07, 2016, about 2000 Coordinated Universal Time, an amateur-built Van's Thiessen RV-4 airplane, C-GGYT, impacted terrain near Eckville, Alberta, Canada, under unknown circumstances. The pilot sustained fatal injuries.
The Transportation Safety Board (TSB) of Canada is investigating the accident. As the state of manufacture of the airplane, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has designated a U.S. accredited representative to assist the TSB in its investigation.
