On July 20, 2016 about 0422 Coordinated Universal Time, a float equipped Cessna 208, B10-FW, collided with a bridge shortly after takeoff from Jinshan City Beach, Shanghai, P.R. China. The airplane was operated by Avic Joy General Aviation under the pertinent civil regulations of China. The airplane was substantially damaged and five of the ten people onboard the airplane sustained fatal injuries.
The accident is being investigated by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). The NTSB has designated a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, as the state of manufacture for the aircraft to assist the CAAC in its investigation.
