On July 31, 2024, about 0836 central daylight time, a Piper PA-34-200T, N2106E, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Wills Point, Texas. The pilot and pilot-rated passenger were not injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight.

According to the pilot, he filled the airplane with a full load of fuel (123 gals) and departed Wood County Airport (KJDD), Mineola, Texas, about 0817 with plans to fly to Sierra Blanca Regional Airport (KSRR), Ruidoso, New Mexico. After departure, he climbed to 6,500ft. About 15 minutes into the flight, both engines stopped producing power. The pilot notified air traffic control and turned toward Van Zandt County Regional (76F), Wills Point, Texas, and began emergency procedures in an attempt to restore engine power. These procedures were unsuccessful in restoring engine power, and he executed a forced landing to a hay field. During the forced landing, the airplane sustained substantial damage to both wings and the fuselage.

During an on-scene exam, a FAA inspector noted that both fuel tanks were nearly full.

The airplane and engines were recovered and will be examined at a later date.
