The Boeing 757-300 was the longest single-aisle airliner ever built, serving as the stretched variant of Boeing's successful 757 family. First flown on August 2, 1998, it was a low-wing twin-engine airliner powered by Rolls-Royce RB211 or Pratt & Whitney PW2000 series turbofans, capable of seating 243 passengers in typical configuration or up to 295 in high-density layouts. Measuring 178 feet 7 inches in length with a 124-foot wingspan, only 55 examples were manufactured at Boeing's Renton facility between 1996 and 2004.
