Analysis

On July 25, 1998, approximately 1210 Pacific daylight time, a Cessna 195B, N2125C, sustained substantial damage after a hard landing at Ashland, Oregon, The private pilot, the sole occupant, received minor injuries. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed for the flight, which had originated at Ashland, for a series of touch and go landings. No flight plan was filed and the pilot reported that the ELT actuated, but did not assist in locating the wreckage.

The pilot stated that he landed with an excessive sink rate and the main landing gear collapsed. The NTSB 6120.1/2 form provided was unsigned.
